On the telly there’s an interview
with a beautiful young woman in Goa
who was seized by six men
and gang-raped - at least,
that is, by two of them
after which she lost consciousness
and I try to equate the brutality of what was done to her
with the look of quiet,
resigned sadness
on her face.

I always admire those that write to something they've seen and just felt like writing about.
that's actually good, nice job : )

I wonder how different our world would be if poets reported the news. Oh, the screams behind all of our quiet, resigned faces. I like it Prince. Your snapshots have moved into the field.

 They couldn't do a worse job than the current state of news.
Nice Prince.

A great poem. While I would like to comment on the delicate pacing and weighting of each individual line, I would not want to dismiss the image and the situation itself in doing so, which is vivid and heartwrenching.
In short flashes of news on TV we can only ever see snapshots, never what is behind the eyes, only the brief details we are presented. I'm glad you've put your perception of this into poetry.

I deeply appreciate your comments both on the technique here and on my intention. If I'd known how to do so, I'd have preferred to enter a link to that interview (I think it was on the BBC World News) and to the ineffably beautiful face of that woman who was brutalized.

This is simply breathtaking. Nothing more needs to be said or hinted at

Many thanks. It's always my intention to trust my readers, without unnecessarily prompting them.
