I had to write a sonnet for my english class (which in the end I procrastinated and was able to finish 20 minutes before class started). Here's my finished piece, it may not make sense to some but I'll post anyway :)
Eternity lay a single moment,
Prior theory is not gained feigned nor made,
Yet lives are lived who reach for it’s potent
Shall we lament; for the lone key will fade.
Lives are spent searching for different cores,
Foundations are built circumstances melt
Knowingly as of nothing – furthermore,
Another one arise: it shall be dealt.
I’ll grieve at the stolen tree of knowledge
For what could be was never meant to be.
Beseech ourselves quick, oh fruits of college
See seen, will see – God, what has thou shown we?
Ponder my mentor: eternity found,
Spring. Haste, open thee door, to worlds we are bound.
