Has anyone read this play (or even heard of it??). It won a Pulitzer in 1981...but I cannot for the life of me figure out why. I read the play and watched the movie in order to get some context for the scene I was assigned in my theater class.
The whole thing is inane, and the main characters - three sisters - are nut jobs so quixotic I can't work up a scrap of sympathy for the lot of them. Am I missing something? Some great elevated theme that is too lofty for my adolescent mind to fathom?? :crash:
