walking through a parking lot
he places a blackberry on my tongue
it rests there
melting juicily,
a nexus of nectar and love

pancakes
his are handcrafted,
studded with blueberries,
small, ornate
painted with a
purple sheen they merge with
a richness beyond measure
into the palate of my heart

a rainy afternoon
the crabs, smoky blue and green,
stare, their tiny eyes
filled with a passion for life
their cactus limbs flail

we dine
patiently he shows me
how to peel back
each delicate chamber
pull forth the
bursting meat

and I am plunged.
steeped steaming seasoned
into something rich and strange
wonder shimmers within

naked I feast
my heart skinned

The blackberry at the beginning posed an initial problem for me, even though it wasn't capitalized. I thought I was in for a rough, surrealist ride, but I soon got over that as this unfolded in tender epicurean lusciousness.

Well, "luscious" may be the wrong word for so elegant a poem! Thank you for every morsel of it.

This poem makes me feel very hungry for delicious and wonderful delectables. A sensual delight.

I think you missed 'jucily'='juicily' and 'nexxus'='nexus'. Just my particularity.

Excellent.

Whoa Nellie! That 'naked I feast my heart skinned'! I have been there a few times. Nice.
I think I feel the crescendo.

Thank you breathtest, PrinceMyshkin, Silas Thorne (for your sharp eyes), ampoule, firefangled, Monamy.

You know the nakedness, while it could possibly be literal, is also metaphorical; I was trying to convey one's vulnerablility when you open your heart to love, and also the absolute wonder when you are introduced to something completely outside your ken.

Whatever you happened to get from it, I am happy you are left with the feeling of having ingested something rather tasty!
