Philosophy cannot answer most of our questions in life. Maybe spirituality can to some extent answer some of the basic questions in life. We want to know who we are and of course our origins.

There are so many answers. Both scientists and philosophers weave so many imaginings, but they have no final answers when we raise questions regarding where man was before birth and where will go after death.

Of course it is very natural for all of us to know our roots or origins. We have so many answers both from the domain of science and religions.

Theologians argue that God made everything. The earth, the sky, the sun and moon.

Biologists contend that man comes through evolutionary phases.

But we have never been satisfied with their answers and argumnets.

Maybe spiritualists are closer to truth. I often read books of spirituality like Khalil Gibran and Sufi poems and also Vedanta and of course in them I find shades of truth if not full truth.

We know it is almost impossible to know truth, yet we are not refraining from searching for it.

We all are seekers and living in one of the celestial bodies in the Milky way we are simply muddling ourselves in this world.

This problem represents the absurd position. We are beings seeking meaning in a universe that has none. (Strange, I've been making a lot of posts about Camus recently!)

I agree we are not yet satisfied, but I think that is primarily due to the fact that we are waiting for that final proof. However, I also believe that final proof can never appear, thus the absurd position.

I agree that spirituality has much to offer. We should give it more attention rather than only thinking about science.

After all, it's based on belief!

Life has infinite meaning.

What I mean by this is that life has meaning. The meaning of life has meaning. Layers upon layers and there is no end of it.

In other words, I may grow, and grow and grow. And even after 50 years, I can still learn new things, learn new meaning, and continue growing and evolving. There is no "where" to finally end up at. Like when you're in a dance; there's no spot on the floor which is the goal to reach, the point is just to dance. Same with life. There's no goal of life, but there is meaning. The goal is to dance. But as for meaning, yes, there is infinite meaning. Infinite growth, infinite meaning, bliss, peace, power, and knowledge. That is life (God) for you.

I may have a revelation, and discover the meaning of life. Discover some transcendental truth, discover my oneness with the universe, discover all that peace - discover meaning. And yet from that point, I may have another revelation, and another. This is what I mean by saying life has meaning; though it may take revelation to see; and yet there is no end. We are infinite in nature.

I completely agree! We are saying the same thing.

To say that life has infinite meaning is the same as saying it has no meaning.

Now, I am using the term meaning in the rational, enlightenment sense that most people use it - i.e. there is only one correct meaning. Whenever there is a search for meaning, whether it be science or personal, it's usually the search for the one, true meaning.

When I say that there is no meaning, I am really saying that there is not one, true meaning. Instead there are any number of possible meanings - Identical to your assertion that there is infinite meaning.

Meaning's value and truth is created by the individual. Whether that belief manifests itself in the Big Bang, Jesus, the Flying Spaghetti Monster, etc. is irrelevant. They become meaningful because of the value put into them by the individual that believes.

Meaning, at its most basic level, is an act of creation.

The problem we have, is the word meaning is loaded with so much more than we realize. Our words are problematic, they carry too much baggage.

Yes they certainly do. :)

Anyway, in that case I agree with you also.
