The Review: A True Story

we met almost a year ago
we were both a little shy
you watched my play pool
as i tried not to catch your eye

we went almost three months
with just passer-by hi's
then the bonding started
and we couldn't say good-bye

disaster came out way
and we comforted one another
somehow a new frienship
became something so much more

i laid my head on your chest
as you calmed my tears
you make the world stop
you calmed all my fears

you found out much later
the reason that i cried
i was decided to be with you
even if it cost me my life

i wrote you many letters
about how it would be
i watched your face turn pink
as you read them in front of me

i spoke of long walks
and soft, sweet kisses
many days of laughter
and long, warm embraces

i finally had you convinced
to give us, at least, a try
i fell asleep in your arms
that very next night

you took my cheek in your palm
and you seemed a little shy
when you told me that you loved me
a single tear slipped my eye

a friend invited us to the beach
but when he fell asleep in the sand
i sang my heart out, to tears
as you held me in your hands

i can still feel your fingers
the way they touched my skin
i will never forget that night
i can't be loved like that again

we have spent a lot of hours
together side by side
so this is to review
what we did with our time

we didn't do it very often
but i loved it all the same
falling asleep in the car
is something i wouldn't trade

we had many of nights
at kayla and wayne's
showers were the best
there i had no shame

i never knew that i could be
so comfortable with another
hiding something from you?
i wouldn't even bother

sometimes we got a room
so many things we shared
hugs,kisses, tickles, and love
you showed me that you cared

i can still feel it
your soft, gentle touch
our nude bodies as one
i miss that so much

who would have ever known
someone could be so sweet
a kind hearted man
you would do anything for me

i will have to thank your mom someday
for the man that she's created
with a beautiful heart and mind
who's love has never faded

you started out as K-mart
and became my baby one night
but i would have never guessed
an angel was in my sight

i'm completely honored
to know the favor was returned
i know it was for a reason
it will stay with me forever

i shouldn't let you go
but you have asked me to
although i have no choice
know our love is not through

just please don't forget me
and what i meant to you
i promise with all my heart
my love was always true

when you get into bed at night
i hope you think of me
i will blow you a kiss goodnight
knowing friends is all we can be.
