Does the word "blog" come from "web-log"? Just wondering.

I think it is called Peruvian because it was first seen there, but it was later found to exist all over Latin America. :p

It does! I did my senior thesis on blogging! :D

It has also spawned the words "blogosphere" (the world of blogging) and "blogger" (a person who keeps a blog) and "blog" itself can also be a verb, as in "I am so going to blog about this LitNet thread!" or, more commonly, "I'm blogging this."

Also, some may totally eliminate the use of the word "about" in my example above, assuming that the reader understands that "I am so going to blog this" means that they will, indeed, write ABOUT it in their blog.
