Dandelion Wine - Has anybody read this? if so, i'd like to hear your thoughts on it.

I read that book a long, long time ago --- maybe in my teens. It was beautiful, elegiac, and completely un-Bradbury-like, or at least very different from what I'd have expected from Bradbury, who leans more towards science fiction... Loved that book. In fact, you've reminded me that I must absolutely read it again :)

Really?
I actually thought that it was quite Bradbury-like - he tends to be quite poetic, nostalgic and elegic (even if he does write science fiction) - to think of "Something Wicked This Way Comes" for example - that is quite similar IMO - the setting is a tiny bit different, but the style and feeling are quite the same.

And yes, "Dandelion Wine" was great while I am at it.

Lord..its been AGES. I was like 10 or 11 when I read it and hardly remember it. I was a huge Bradbury fan at the time after getting an anthology of his science fiction stories at the library. Definately one that I plan to re read. I think I posted something on this recently, questioning whether this book falls under the dystopian category. As I said, I remember virtually nothing about this book...
