Well I don't know about you but I personally prefer english breakfast with milk and one sugar - two if I really feel like sticking it to my hot dentist.

What about you? :alien:

You have a hot dentist?

I don't usually drink tea, but I do when I'm sick. I prefer to have a strawberry/blackberry mix with enough honey to sweeten, but not enough to overpower it. Maybe toss a bag of peach in there somewhere . . . and a bit of sugar would be the least of my dentist's worries!

Yes.

Did you know dentists have the highest suicide rate in the world?

BienvenuJDC
04-25-2009, 09:59 AM
I heard that...any idea what the connection is?

Zee.

Yes. Looking in to decaying, rotten mouths all day every day and having "mm hmm mhmhmmhm blah gaharagahgheghagh " conversations with the patients.

tea is panacea for all troubles.

But...hot AND dentist?

...I've never heard of a person using those two words in one sentence.

I wish I had a hot dentist. I would go to the dentist more often, I am sure.

It makes sense why they would have such a high suicide rate, I suppose.

Oh and I really like Rooibos tea, with some milk and honey. Or just plain green tea, with nothing added.

Though if I need a boost I will have some Indian tea (black tea)... mmm now I want some tea.

BienvenuJDC
04-25-2009, 01:43 PM
Hmmm...I wonder what the suicide rate is for proctologists?

I think that I need to broaden my horizons with tea. Honey and lemon with regular tea...which I'm not sure what kind that actually is...

Regular tea.
Milk.
Reasonably strong.
No sugar.
I use PGtips.
:o)
I swear, I could live on it. Somebody put me on a tea drip.

Ah, you and me both, LadyW :) But make mine Tetley or Tesco Finest - PG Tips tastes strange in the local water.

Where abouts do you live Kasie?
I live in the North, so the water's softer up here... not sure if that makes a difference.
:)
Tetley's is lovely by the way.

I have a hot dentist too. Once I went to him, and I'd had a horrible morning, I was in tears, but after he saw me I was all happy and giggly (I didn't have anything done, it was just a check up and clean) and everything was great :D. Until I mentioned it to the people with me and when he came back out of course they all had to move around and look at him. But he is gorgeous, and a good dentist too.

As for tea, I remember the last tea thread, I learnt a lot about teas vs. tisane. A lot of the "teas" I drink are actually tisane. But, because it is easier, I'll refer to them all as teas.
my acupuncturist put me on chrysanthemum tea, to de-stress me, and it works fabulously. Also, I love it - even though I had to have it with honey at first because I couldn't stand it.
I drink a lot of green tea.
Apart from that, I drink plain old tea and Rooibos tea. (white, one sugar)
Jasmine tea is nice as well, but I tend to only have that when I'm out with friends, not at home.
I have a variety of them around the place, like Rooibos with vanilla, Chai with green tea, Green tea with mint, so on and so forth.

I love tea.

I drink a lot of green tea.
Be aware that probably won't de-stress you, but make you go hyperdrive. I used to teach in China and the place I was teaching for gave all the teachers these cool cups that were big clear plastic cylinders with fine mesh near the top to keep the green tea nice and separate from the hot infused water...well anyway, a few pints of greeny supercharged water and I was zipping around and knocking things over, tripping over walls, and walking through chairs and desks. Maybe I thought the collision detection had been turned off on my life game, but the metal bits on the chairs kind of hurt the shins. Green tea in large quantities makes me into speedy monkey man.
Actually green tea's a pretty good stimulant..especially some kinds of tea I've heard you can almost get drunk on because it's so powerful, and people pack it superfull of leafy green goodness in superheated small cups. :)

And green tea has anti-oxidants...which prevents kidney stones...and if you've ever had a kidney stone...YOU KNOW THAT'S VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!

About 3 years ago, my friend dragged me into this Chinese herb place... and she bought us all a pot of "love tea" to share. It was quite vile actually... and it made me feel horrendous, for some reason.
But that very same night, I got together with my first boyfriend.
Coincidence?
(Yes, I think it is actually, because he turned out to be a real <insertprofanityofyourchoicehere>)

Did you know that peanut butter, orange juice among other things have been said to contribute to kidney stones? Who here has ever had a kidney stone?

skib

Not I. And that is depressing that all those wonderful things cause kidney stones! They are among my favorites. Guess I'll have to drink more green tea.

I love tea. Any kind of black tea. Favourites are Blackcurrant, Irish Breakfast, and Indian Chai, and I take all of them with a bit of sugar. I hate green tea. It takes like grass.

I love Yerba Mate: it's a kind of green tea that taste like a dirt & weeds broth. It's absolutely awesome. I also like Blackcurrant for black tea.

I don't think I could live in a world without tea - it really keeps me going!

I like trying lots of different kinds of tea - sure, a bog-standard tea (with a drop of milk) is great if you're in a hurry, but I like to take my time over more exotic kinds. A friend of mine is REALLY into his teas - he has hundreds of varieties, and a special tea-kettle so that the water can be heated to the optimum temperature - so I usually go to his when I fancy something a little different.

I love the way people say Irish Breakfast. Over here thats just tea. And its the best tea on the planet. (We are the biggest tea drinkers so we did need to perfect it) :D I love a cup of bewleys green label, or a Lyons gold blend reserve (yes, we have reserves in tea like the french do wine). Tetley, PG Tips and i think its typhoo are the mankiest teas ever. (you'll understand if you drink irish tea all day long!)
I have a shelf of tea.
Nettle
Peppermint
Fennel
Cherry and Cinnamon
Apple and blackcurrent
Morning tea
Blackberry, blueberry and acai
Orange and Ginseng
Camomile and Honey
Daintree tea
T2 refresh tea
T2 Botanic tea
T2 Tummy tea
T2 Relax
T2 Sleep tight
and Twinings everyday tea.
Lots of tea.

THAT IS. THE VERY TRUTH. IT IS SO GOOD. HOW do you folks do it? I'm drinking it RIGHT. NOW.

Truly, Niamh, I may start calling it "The Tea."

And you should take a picture of your awesome teashelf. I wish my tea shelf were so cool. I do have a few new flavors of tea leaves (I like to use my teapot infuser sometimes) - one of them is caramel, which I was very skeptical of at first, but it's actually really yummy!

Right now I love Tetley Orange Pekoe, with just milk. I can't drink tea with sugar - it changes the taste of the tea.

And I also love Twining's Indian Chai at night - it's very calming.

I really like Jasmine tea. I had it once at a Chinese restaurant, and I've been hooked on it forever. And jasmine tea is meant to be enjoyed in its purest form - no milk, no sugar.

Most Chinese teas are. Chrysanthemum tea is also a flower tea of fragrant goodness.

Red teas: I really like Earl Grey, black, with sugar, though I also like Rooibos tea-the smell's fantastic. I once had a Chinese red tea from Qinghai (a province in China) that was full on. It was really strong flavored. Pretty bitter, a little bit harsh, but good and wakesome.

Regarding Chinese green teas, I quite like Dragonwell tea...but it's really expensive to buy the good stuff.

I am so down with English Breakfast with milk. Never bothered to try it with sugar but that sounds good. I have a cup every morning of that stuff. Delicious.

I like Jasmine tea, too...and Earl Grey and Chamomile and Strawberry and Darjeeling and and and and! I need to try Ceylon tea, too...

I like "proper" tea. No dunking a bag into a cup of hot water for me... It needs to be brewed even if it is tea bags... and in a tea pot... at least for 10 minutes. I can tell if it is ready by its smell.

Once it is brewed like this, I think it is a shame to ruin the tea with milk or sugar! :)

Nightshade

hahaha:lol: see people always tell me off if I breww/steep tea
but it is good.
And my flatmate accidently broke my tea pot. And it was a good tea pot too it could take a whole kettle and a half of water ...:bawling:

Niamh

I have my own little tisane pot fro brewing leaf. The Daintree tea is a leaf black tea but its a strange one and i have to put a few heaps into the pot just to brew one decent cup.

04-27-2009, 02:52 PM
And, of course, you always take the pot to the kettle, not the kettle to the pot, being a 'proper' tea drinker, don't you, Niamh? And the water must be freshly boiled, not just boiled a minute ago.

Niamh
04-27-2009, 03:05 PM

a kettle you plug in and boil the water. a tea pot can either go on the stove if its metal or have hot water poured into it for brewing.

Any kind of tea! Any! I love tea. I am a tea fan. A tea addict. (I blame England.) Green tea with honey , Earl Gray with lemon and cream, Divine Raspberry tea, a big, foaming Chai with loads of milk and raw sugar.

(And to add to the hot dentist thing: I once had a really sexy orthodontist. Unfortunately, I was such a dickhead about the things he was doing to the inside of my mouth and the excruciating pain and humiliation he caused me that I often made him cry with my snarky, nasty comments. Haha.)
