Remembrance for Columbine
There’s talk on the street as they try to remember,
The terror experienced with those guns popping off…
Moments of pain, and moments so tender
Praise for the survivors and prayers for those gone…
Just two kids in High school what gave them the idea,
To shoot up the school like a Western saloon…
No tears of pity and no fear of dying
Fear covered the canvas like blanket from morn unto afternoon
Words chiseled in stone are constant reminders
Of those who died that day and those wounded and torn
A moment caught in time on security cameras
Makes you wonder if sociopaths are created or born…
So I lay a wreath in absentia at the crosses this time
And pray that there will never be another Columbine…
