I recently came across this marvelous website. You are an answer to my prayers.
I have been searching for a short story or an excerpt from a full length story.
I remember reading the story in the early 1980's. It was about a couple of scientists who discover the cure for immortality.
The story deals with their moral dilemma resulting from the fact that the cure kills 50% of the people taking it.
They decide to distribute the cure as a hand soap. It is sent to people all over the world. They include a note explaining what can happen. The rest of the story is about people from various socio-economic classes and their moral debates.
