lies spoken softly
hurt worse than the truth shouted
you say things you don't mean
promising things you won't keep
& it hurts all the worse
because you're pushing away
you say others have changed
well look at yourself
pity the fools who've been taken in
by your smile & seeming honesty
no one states their mind except
to the ones who don't care
truth is written hypocritically
by a soft touch & a deceiving mind
maybe i'm just wishing for the impossible
it seems that while our lives are everchanging
