Do you think that Oceania truly encompasses Airstrip One, North America, etc...or is that merely an existence contrived by the Party? Is all Oceania only Airstrip One?
I ask because it would be very difficult to have a Totalitarian society spread out so far. That it is more feesible for someplace contained. Can they truly switch war and peace between Eurasia and Eastasia so quickly, or is it merely to keep the work of war going? Does the outside world exist or acknowledge Airstrip One's existence?
On a side note:
Is it pronounced OH-she-ann-ah or OH-she-ane-ee-ah?

We never know for sure, but the three groupings make sense when Orwell wrote the book, and they could probably make the same sense now.
I'd say the Oceania/Eastasia/Aurasia groupings are what really existed.

Worked ok for Russia/USSR for quite a while, so I don't see it as all that unlikely.

Only insofar as the Party deems it necessary.
Whether there's really a war or not is unknown, but the concept of either a limited war agreed by the participants, or a completely fake one are quite possible. The execution of clearly Asiatic prisoners tends to indicate that some kind of conflict happens, although they could just as easily be Asiatic members of Oceania's population.

As a resident of the real Oceania, we pronouce it Oh-shee-ahn-eeah.
