Hello. My name is Wayne and I am interested in seeing if anyone has seen or knows the rest of the words to the following prayer / poem:
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do noy sleep.
I am a thousand winds........
That's all I can remember. Has anyone seen this before and can help me. Thank you. Wayne

Do not stand at my grave and weep (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Do_not_stand_at_my_grave_and_weep)
Apparently, most probably by Mary Elizabeth Frye.

It is called Do not stand at my grave and weep, and its by Mary Elizabeth Frye (only recently proved, though).
There are two versions:
Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
And:
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I do not die.
Its also been put to music - Katherine Jenkins does a lovely version, and you can find it on youtube. Its one of my favourite songs...
