I have learned today:
1) That even when you tell, supposedly intelligent, people, "We'll get back to you as soon as we know what the problem is, so that it can be fixed. I promise you'll be the first to know" that they don't understand the concept, and will still call or e-mail you incessantly even if they know you don't have an answer yet.
2) That sometimes when people think they are being subtle they are at their most transparent...in Afrikaans we have a saying that says if your heart's filled with something it spills out of your mouth. I'm not sure what the english equivalent is, but people should try and remember it. Otherwise you'll give away all your secrets...and some of them I really don't want to know.

So many poetic forms to study (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Poetic_form) (sigh).

I think I'll experiment with the subsets of Waka. I've enjoyed writing Haiku in the past. The variations of 5-7 I found might allow for more expression than the staid 5-7-5 model, although I must still stay within the minimalist tradition if I understand correctly.
