We live in steal cages
unadjusted eyes
watching haunted
images steel by

Lost in wordless wonder
pre-conditioned
to blunder

Shaping our own
prisons with
careful consideration
trained to live within
this zoo

Breaking ourselves
to bit and saddle
once we too were free
but we have clipped
our own wings

Convinced of our
possibility
ever trying to
mechanically reproduce
what once came
naturally

We found ways
to make believe
domesticity is
superiority

Our achievements
reeking of desperation
while gazing out
viewless windows

Contemplating
how to mold even
greater towers
to stifle our dreams
