Has anyone read any of the books listed? I have only read 'Dangling Man' while I was at university and liked it... (I know, I know... it is against the law to like one's course work but...)

I read Bellow's Herzog a looooong time ago, in high school, and very much enjoyed it, making it worthy for recommendation to any readers.

Nope, never read anything of his... and what's wrong with liking one's course work? :p
Even course works have their good moments ;)... ok, some :goof:

Seems like Seize The Day will be a clear winner... I am ordering my copy next time when I am in the town centre.

Wow. I haven't even heard of that one. My downstairs neighbour just moved out and left me with a stack of books including Herzog, so if you all feel like voting altruistically, you could save me a few pounds on the cost of a book. Hmm. Unlikely.

I read Dangling Man recently. Nicely written, but I didn't really see the point.

I liked it at university; I wonder what I would think of it if I read it now...
