A toast ( not a poem )

[Silas Thorne]

Here's to the guy that took
twenty minutes out of his lunch hour
to help me put in the baby's car seat
for free!

Here's to all the people
that let me into a busy stream of traffic
when it all looked impossible!

Here's to the woman
who gave me a free coffee
when someone bumped into me from behind,
and the girl who paid for my bus fare
when I was short for cash!

Here's to the professor
who calmed me down
sitting me down on one of the soft couches in his room
when my feet
were almost too heavy to lift up to walk,
and I had two or three overdue essays at the same time!

Here's to you all, and more,

Thanks for reading! And I did put it in the personal poetry section though, because I have 'labelling-issues' ;) with toasts. I don't consider them prose, as with oaths. :)
