It takes a few glimpses at you eyes
a random encounter in the street
a few tones of your voice
or just a wink of imagination
to raise my love for you again

Although, it took me years
to force myself to stay calm
before the glow of your forehead
years to supress the effect
of your smiles
or softness of your glance

It costed me hundreds of nightmares
to prevent my dreams
conjuring you up
it costed me muscule strains
to excorcize the traces of you
from my body

Look now! How easy it is
to jump into the ocean
of loving you again...
again.. again... again...

This poem really does bring that feeling across: the one who you need to quit but is so easy to love ... and it is in the small things that you fall over and over again.

I especially like the last verse, and the image of jumping into an ocean of loving. As swimming can be wonderful, but the ocean can be a dangerous, dangerous place.

The "build" of the verse
[v1: what raises love again
v2+v3: the struggle to un-love
v4: today's downfall]
is really nicely done in my eyes :)

And I like that little flicker of mystery that stays: for the poem does not say whether the love is reinstated, just that it would be so easy to fall again - not that the falling has really occured.

Thanks for sharing,
Sapphire.

Wonderful.
Love how the repetition of 'again' echoes over here. :)

Thank you both. I am so glad you liked it because it grew out of a genuine experience. When you share something so strong, with people who understand, you feel better, don't you?

Oh, I like the ending... it's really quite haunting!

I hope it does. I think it's brave of you to share such a personal poem - that is really quite a step.

Keep strong,
Sapphire.
