i read this book nearly a year ago and one thing has always bugged me about the ending.

for those who haven't read it and want to, then stop reading! SPOILERS!!!!

when clint smoker drives off from his meeting with the transsexual and runs into joseph andrews, how is it that joseph andrews ends up blinding clint smoker? or is it the other way around, smoker ends up blinding andrews? anyway that was never resolved and it just seemed to happen. and i just didn't understand it, anyone who read it can explain it would be much appreciated.

I knew I had heard the name, Martin Amis, from somewhere, and I remembered: from my favorite bookstore's website, containing an interview and summary of Yellow Dog, among Amis' other novels. I have never read the story, but hopefully this helps; if not, I still find it interesting:

Just out of curiosity, does Martin Amis have any relation to an English novelist/poet named Kingsley Amis?
