I'm directing the play 1984 this summer for a community theater. Have you ever seen it?

I'm reading the book before auditions but I'm wondering how those who love the book what would you expect from the play, the characters, the set? It's very minimalistic, what would be the most important points you would hope would come across?

The hopelessness of rebellion.

The absolute dominance of the Party.

The subjugation of humanity for immortality in the form of doctrine.

Winston & Julia's love.

The horror and despair of Room 101.

The resurrection of Winston as a perfect Party member.
