April 2nd marks Hans Christian Andersen's 200th birthday. His birthday will be celebrated around the world all year round. Quite becoming for the man who enriched children's and adult's lives alike since 1800s :) Let's remember him by reading some of his stories and share the favorites with each other.

The first ever Andersen story I read was The Little Match Girl (http://www.andersen.sdu.dk/vaerk/hersholt/TheLittleMatchGirl_e.html), which I read when I was 7. Remember crying my eyes out. Luckily, not all of his stories as sad!

Looking at the list, I have read 'The Emperor's New Clothes', 'The Little Mermaid', 'The Little Match Girl', 'The Nightingale', 'The Princess on the Pea', 'The Red Shoes', 'The Steadfast Tin Soldier', 'Thumbelina' and 'The Ugly Duckling'. It is amazing how many more stories are there to read. I wish someone got me a collection for my birthday, too! :D
