How does one define "unreasonable?" If the witches inform MacBeth of him becoming King, why would it be unreasonable to attain it? It strikes me as very reasonable.

My view: I agree with the question's stance.

So I was wondering what a good first sentence would be, one that's short but says a lot in itself.



Try and identify the point at which it becomes unreasonable. Orginally he says he'll leave fate alone.

Talk about the role of fate, how his wife is an influence, what you think his influences are...

it's unreasonable because he puts his trust into complete strangers and decides to overthrow a good king
