Hello everyone. I want to introduce myself to you as this is my first day here. My name is Tuba. I am from Turkey. I like reading, I especially like literature. I wanted to emphasize this because I have some friends who thinks literature is vain and useless. (Some of them even say they prefer reading better things which they may learn someting from). My favorite writer is Jerzy Kosinski. I found this forum on google. There are very interesting posts, and very nice ideas here.

I can not say I am a good reader, at least not as good as I want to be. I know time is not an excuse but I am working and following my Phd degree in statistics. They are both time consuming works for me. Other than that I have other hobbies which require some time. I enjoy collecting photographs and reading old Turkish manuscipts. My collecting habit is again related with literature. My specialty area is photographs and autographs of literary figures. I am sharing all of my photos on my website. So, uploading every item onto the website and keeping it up to date takes a lot of time too. But still, I am trying to be a better reader.

One way to overcome the time problem is always carrying some reading material with myselh. Whereever I go I always take a book with me and I read on the bus, or while waiting in line in the bank, etc. I am sure many people are doing the same thing but for me its a life saver.

I guess this much is enough for introducing myself. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Welcome to the forum Tubish, you will find a broad range of contributors from academics to people who just love literature for its own sake. It is a great place for general discussion of all kinds of writing, from tha classic stories of ancient Greece to the fiction of today. It is both informative and entertaining.
