One that broke the flowers with the glass says 'believe me, I'm as honest as a kiss,' roaming wildly at the mouth, since demons, long ago, broke in through the cracks of his smile. He says 'believe me and remember this:
A glimpse of your soft body
bathes kings purple in the dusk;
how can I turn to heaven
when you make me turn to dust?'
Etcetera, again, and so forth to other lovers, but his bed rode on a whim tide of fashion and tears, for which there was no conclusion.

The whole of this is rich in mystery but

his bed rode on a whim tide of fashion and tears

has a singularly pointed effect!

It always makes me nervous to comment on your pieces, because you write so eloquently and I always feel like I'm not going to give your poems the commentary they deserve.

I can see why a girl would simply let go, with words like this:

"A glimpse of your soft body
bathes kings purple in the dusk;
how can I turn to heaven
when you make me turn to dust?'"

- even if she had a hint of the consequences. It sounds like it comes from him so easily, maybe rehearsed, but still perfect.
