This was written for Readwritepoem.org's read write prompt #67 (http://readwritepoem.org/2009/02/20/read-write-prompt-67-share-the-bop/), with a refrain donated by Michelle (http://peonymoon.wordpress.com/). Enjoy!

My Last Blind Night (http://thinkingcities.blogspot.com/2009/02/my-last-blind-night.html)

I heard them last night
They said I was blind, explained
Those pictures, those forms
They see, but I don't
Know what colours are, or light is
That night, I became different, dear

If you are lucky,
You will carry one night with you.

I was sent tonight
Far away, a warm place
Those wires, lines running from
Machine to my mind, now I
Know what colours are, and light is
Tonight, I became different, dear

If you are lucky,
You will carry one night with you.

I will go tomorrow
Alone, to my death, I fell
Those inexplicable forms, those
Handicap shapes, playing I
Know what colours are, and light is, tomorrow
Tomorrow I will become different, dear

If you are lucky,
You will carry one night with you.

No comments on this? I think it's rather lovely.
