View Full Version : Announce your social group here!

Hello LitNetters!

I talked with a moderator, and were supported to start this thread, either because I have groups that I'd like to announce, as well as I'd like to open discussions on social groups in general.

I thought to make a poll like "how many social groups are you in?", or "how often do you take a look at your social groups?", but there were many interesting questions to make, so I think we might use this thread to chat about it as well :D

So, I think many people will wish to speak, therefore, I'll wait a bit to say something. I pass word to the next one.~

Oh geez, I belong to so many, but that in itself is ridiculous. I hardly visit them any more. I am so overwhelmed keeping up with the forum and the blogs. :D I'll post my social groups later when I get a chance.

I belong to quite a few (17 to be exact). Some I don't visit anymore because of certain people that have 'hijacked' the group. There are about 3 or 4 that I visit fairly regulary.

Why thank you. But there are others there as well. I enjoy the blogs. They are much more personable. :)

Well here are a list of my social groups:

Books, Books, Books!
Dog Lovers Not Anonymous
Forum Book Club
Literary figures sayings
Magic and Mayhem
Music Appreciation
Philosophers place
Photo freaks
Poets At Heart
Short Story Readers
Tea and Coffee Lovers Unite
The Bible
The Larry Appreciation Society
The League of Honourable Old Geezers and Geezerettes
The Lit-Net Generation
Thirty and Up
Writers Almost-Anonymous

I really should look into those more.

I am a member if about 5 I think. I don't tend to get there to often. My time on lit nit has been cut down and it is hard enough to keep up with the forum and blog as well as talking to people. I should really make a visit just for the social groups.

nah, he doesn't read mine! :alien:

(do you, Virge? I doubt it! :D )
 Actually, I tried to translate it, but found out that I could not, because the writing is too much ... chosen. Someone else will have to. And it'd better not to come under my eyes, fer ... It won't be a good thing!~

But I do hope I manage to tranlate it myself, someday! It's an unfinished story, anyway -- I've been publishing one chapter a week ... --, and I still have to make some little ajustments to the text as it is, so I shouldn't even be publishing already, but ... well.

... About the blog, it's Portuguese, Kizzy. & I intend to translate it, someday, so, don't worry that much :)

Well, about time I told about mine ...

I'm in four groups,
created two:

1. the VERY POPular the One More Counter @ LitNet Dorf, &
2. the Roman Latin corner @ LitNet

First one's about fun,
second one too, but related to Latin language, Roman literature, and Etymology, Philology, and a place for linguists and curious people about it! :)

Everyone's welcome to me groups! :thumbs_up

... About the blog, it's Portuguese, Kizzy. & I intend to translate it, someday, so, don't worry that much :)Well, the blog is something that we can write what we want (of course, adhering to the usual rules that apply to this site), so chosing to write a story in another language is totally acceptable. And IF you so desire to translate, that would be cool. If not, hey, it is your blog, after all! :)

But anyhow, since you created this thread, you have made me (and perhaps others) think of how I joined and even created Social Groups, then didn't really pay much attention to them... So thanks, Libri!

Bah, social groups! As much as I respect them and their starters and initiation, I want to socialize with everyone of everything! I am not a member of any social groups, book clubs, or what have you, but do not want to feel misjudged as some sort of forum vigilante. :p
If I had more spare time, which I desperately lack these days, I would join almost every social group, but que sera, sera.

Are you in 40 groups? Woll, you might be 10 times more often in LitNet than I, and it might be divided ... You'd certainly need an agenda

Ok, here is a new group: Computer nerds Corner (http://www.online-literature.com/forums/group.php?groupid=66): The LitNet site is dedicated to literature, but we also need computers, software and the web to access it. This is a group for those among us who are interested in the above as more than mere tools

Feel free to join in.

heh, I hadn't heard of them till now. ... I feel a bit antisocial.

~ every day
~ every week
~ I don't have a schedule
~ I don't have a schedule because I'm in more groups than the days of the week
~ I don't have a schedule because I'm in more groups than the days of a month

[just making people think ...]

----

Not all groups demand frequency. Actually, think I, the idea of LitNet social groups is us to gather, and have fun together. However, the more we check what's going on in the groups we're in, the more fun it gets to everyone in the group.

How does this work for you, though?
