Your eyes bleed at seeing my hurt
But seeing isn’t understanding
I see a desire to reach out
To take away the pain
What hurts me almost hurts you
When you feel pain,
Half-hearted and a quiet, solemn solitude
Know that my pain has ended
And, once again, I’ve changed
Into that carefree girl you loved, love still, who has all the love she needs
I’m the only one who could understand
What I meant to you,
I shan’t be here to help you through it,
Not this time, but my essence will flow through your veins
Time won’t heal, but it will numb, and memories will smile
There’ll be restlessness,
Time alone, more than usual, thinking about why?
How could I do this to you?
I gave you more time and strength than I held inside
Now, be strong for me
Although, this moment, you feel alone
You’re aware that this is right, this is where I belong
This is what I’ve wanted all along
Finally, I’m standing up in pride, by her side
Helping the rest of the world on their long and weary ride
I’ve been released from the fatigue
The empty spinning vortex that sometimes grips me
No longer do I have to fight and struggle my way out
I’m safe, many miles from here
Being what I’ve longed for, so long, and so violently
When you think how unfair it is to you that my life was seized
When you’re wondering why I’m gone but life is given to the trees
You’ll feel something tickle your cheek in the gentle summer breeze
It’ll be me, watching over you, despite being let free
My lilting, mocking voice ‘Love you, you would if you loved me’
But seeing isn’t understanding
I see a desire to reach out
To take away the pain
What hurts me almost hurts you
When you feel pain,
Half-hearted and a quiet, solemn solitude
Know that my pain has ended
And, once again, I’ve changed
