Hi, ladies.
My best friend is going to have a wedding soon and she asked me to throw her a bachelorette party. The thing is, I haven't have one and never attended one before myself since back home in my country, it's not common to have it. Well, we girls would just went out for dinner and that's just about it. So I won't call that a party.
So, I need some additional ideas other than having, ahem, a sexy male dancer. ;)
Help me out, please ! :D

The Bridal Shower and the Bachelorette party are two seperate things.
Bridal Shower - family and friends get together and "shower" the couple with gifts. Usually and afternoon deal
Bachelorette Party - the girls take the bride to be out for one last hurrah.

Ow, I didn't know that. From her explanation sounds like they are both referring to the same thing. I think what she wants is the party.

For my sister-in-law's bachelorette, we went bar-hopping, really.
We all had to wear black and white except for the bride, rented a limo, went to a really nice bar to start off with (ridiculously expensive) martinis, then we went to 2 other bars I think, and then we went to a strip club (walked in, turned around and walked out haha).

I've only had to participate in one bachorlette party and we took her out to dinner, then went to a comedy club. It can be quite expensive depending on what you do. Good luck!!!

 all the best! I've no idea what to say...
although something like that's happened to me. I wanted to do the senior address at my graduation in May but I now realize I've no idea what people say in senior addresses

Never mind. I was reading something else and got mixed up and thought you said something else. I guess I've got underwear on my mind. :crash:
Note to self: concentrate on one thing at a time.

Charm, thanks for the idea. Costume can be a cool idea . It would be cool to have her surrounded by bunch of other females wearing something interesting. Would make her looks like a queen. :D
Puss, you're right. It may turn out to be an expensive party. In Denmark, the girls will share the bill. Hope it can be something that worth the money. :brow:

bar hoping is the best but the theme is the most important thing.

For my friends Hens weekend (bachelorette Party/ weekend) we went for a special viewing of Pride and Prejudice in Basildon Park, had a picnic and drank wine and champ.
Most people usually do pub crawls these days and get silly T-Shirts done and wear costumes or cheesy novelties. (apologies to anyone here who has done these! I have a personal loathing for them as i see so many of them on a weekly bases in the Airport!)
Why dont you list a load of things she likes and see if you can pull together a night full of these things. It will be special and one of a kind that way!

Bar hopping in Denmark will be both expensive and cold... :) When is it Sub, let me see if I can think of anything awesome going on in Copenhagen?

We plan it to be early May. I know it's two months from now but time goes so fast and with all the things I do, I might missed the time of having the perfecr plan.
And you're right, Chava. Bar hopping in CPH can be very costly. :brow:

Well, pretty ladies like you two should be able to find gentlemen willing to buy you drinks. ;)
How much is a drink in a CPH bar? It could vary quite a bit in NY, depending on the place. I guess a glass of wine can be anywhere from $7 to $10. A pint of a good beer a little less. Of course you'll have to do the money conversion. And I'm sure there may be places that are even more expensive that I have been to. Or won't let me in. :D

Last Bacheloette party I went to we all chipped in for a party bus, and the MOH called ahead to the bars we were going to to get any cover charges waived. Poor MOH never made it off the bus because she started a little too early.(who hasn'tdone that though) good times, good times. Plus we brought a cooler on the bus so we didn't even really have to buy any additional drinks.. although I'm pretty sure we did.

I heard this guy has decent rates, will travel, and puts on quite a show with yodelling talent and his cow . . .

I'd hire him just to see those sweet shorts in person!

Hah! There must be a danish counterpart. Oh Sub, I bet I could talk a few of my male friends into performing ;) I might even know where we can get a cow.
How many people are going? I've got a few cool suggestions, but it's probably best I tell you about it in person on Friday. :)

Performing? (note: exagerration added :D)
Ouhhhh, I love the word 'performing' ;)
I'm waiting for the guest list, but I don't expect a very big crowd! Yeap, will wait for your ideas this Friday.

Ay, that's very nice of you, Virg!

Well, in the sports bar that I usually go to, a pint of cider cost about 50 DKK (that, I think is around 10 USD:idea:?). Beers usually cost 70 DKK. But some places have cheaper beers and cocktails. Chava probably knows best as she's a student (and I assume this is the kind of knowledge where I would say "students know best" :D) plus she hangs out with many cool people who knows stuffs ;)
