i know nothing about blacksmiths
i know nothing about their tools.
they pick their tongs
anvils and forges
while i stare mesmerized
and frankly
confused
as they use temperature
like i never have
never will
yet here i think is the key
where i could learn
do we not all sometimes
plunge
-or are plunged-
into infernos?
i could not tell you how to get out
but the blacksmith can
and he flays
he molds
he tempers us,
like those multitudinous curves
he shaped for
balconies in New Orleans and
lantern clocks (http://www.brianloomes.com/collecting/blacksmith/) in the 1700's
...i always wondered that space and
time could be sites, he might know
i shall ask him
it's been awhile,
1911 since wrought iron was produced
but he brings back
older art forms nonetheless
following his own drum
making up his own tune
and regenerating
otherworlds
othertimes
otherrhymes
i follow his pen,
his swedge and fuller
marvel at his creations
for they flow,
not as if they were made from iron, or
thought, or anything but
life
and i wonder at the forms
i see.
and this is inspired by mono's poetry. :thumbs_up
