Full of love?
Or was it spent alone?

Or are you a total Scrooge when it comes to Valentine's day?

I had work all morning, then went shopping for things for my Year 12 ball. Was standing in a shoe store wearing ball dress and trying on shoes when the guy who is taking me walked past and saw. Also got strange valentines message from aforementioned guy.

Full of love?

Oh yes.

Or was it spent alone?

In a way.

Or are you a total Scrooge when it comes to Valentine's day?

Yes, in a way I am.

Can't it be all three at the same time? :)
I am not the one up for Valentine's Day (am not romantic enough personally), though I don't have the slightest problem with people celebrating it. In fact there are a few good things it brings with itself such as old Pakistani movies that are a way too difficult to find in shops nearby. On our television channels they start showing the old golden movies, and I, who hardly ever does as much as look on television for a minute in a day, can remain seated near television throughout the evening on Valentine's Day. So as I always say it's more like a TV Day for me rather than a VT Day. :) And all the pink around can be kind of cute. :D

That reminds me of work. Everyone was meant to dress up in pink/red (although I think only one person remembered!) and I made the mistake of wearing a hot pink bra under a white top. Well I got a lot more attention from guys at work than I normally do :p:D

Here's a summary of my Valentine's Day:

12:00 AM ~ Sat there listening to music, trying to sleep. Couldn't stop thinking about her.
12:00 PM ~ Finally, I wake up. The basement was full of water so I spent two pumping water out. When I was alone I cried.
2:00 PM ~ Done with chores! Wahoo! At this point I was extremely hungry, so I make chocolate-chip Scooby-Doo shaped pancakes. mmmm....pancakes.
After that ~ Browsed the net and started my latest blog entry. I made myself cry writing my blog entry. Hoped for lots of replies. I had a lengthy discussion with the girl I can't get over on myspace. She just broke up with some guy so I comforted her.
About 7 PM or so ~ Supper! cheese-filled pitas---yam!
After that ~ back to the internet.
About 10 PM ~ jumped in the shower. Good grief, I cried there too!

After that I started a journal, did some working out, and browsed litnet. I briefly talked to kiz_paws and limajean.

I had a pleasant day. Actually we were with my wife's mother, who's birthday is on Valentine's day. I will be taking my wife out to dinner tonight as our night together. :)

My valentines was great! Best valentines ever! Me and two of my other single friends decide we'd go to Dundalk for the weekend. It was Ace. Me and Rory both went to college there so it was a trip down memory lane. We did a pub crawl. :D seven pubs, and finished off back in the hotel bar.

Wrote an essay on Othello... Bleh...

I personally dislike hallmark day - just an excuse for the companies to play off our emotions... grumblegrumble...

And if it wasn't obvious, I'm single at the moment...:bawling:

My school proffesors for some reason made a deal with us. He will not give us any assignments and projects this Valentine's and he did. The thing we're up now is finding HIM a DATE which is a double effort for us. It's so much harder than doing essays.. :D
Bid us luck! hehe :D

Full of the best kind of love - my grand-daughter came to visit. She was so adorable and really made us all laugh. She loved the piano and is quite the little mastro...at 9 months...

i went for a long walk in the peak district (uk). the snow was really thick for england, which resulted in a snow ball fight and my leg going knee deep in some foul black liquid below the surface. this though was the only low of the day.

AMAZING! My boyfriend took me to Las Vegas for five days, starting on my birthday (the 10th) and culminating on Valentine's day.

Last night, we first got to go up the Eiffel Tower in Paris LV and enjoy the view. Just look how gorgeous it is in the evening:

http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/time-zone/usa/nevada/las-vegas/hotel/the-strip/paris-las-vegas/paris-las-vegas-hotel.jpg

Then we had a romantic dinner in a ridiculously expensive Italian-Japanese fusion restaurant. I know the fusion sounds weird, but it was sooooo good. We kobe-beef-meatball spaghetti dish and a decadent tiramisu that the chef made especially for us.

Then, he took me to see "Phantom of the Opera" at the spectacular Venetian hotel. Admittedly, I'm a huge fangirl of the musical and it turned out better than I expected, though it was considerably shortened from its original form.

Afterwards, we went on a lovely gondola ride. The Venetian, with its Italian theme, offers a romantic gondola ride starting from its outdoor pool and into the indoor section of the canals, which take you through the lavish underground mall.

Outdoors:

Indoors:

The gondoliers even wear the distinctive striped shirt and actually sing to you as they row.

To finish off, we went to a nice ice cream parlour in the Wynn hotel and shared a decadent banana split.

I usually don't go for expensive Valentines and I hate the tradition of sending cards, but this one was admittedly the best Valentine's day EVER!

Hi Wilde Woman, those are wonderful photos, did you take them? My son, above, with his baby daughter, has this best friend, Jimmy, who got married at the Venetian and they took a ride in a gondala right after. It was so gorgeous there. They just love it out there. They had a great time. What a wonderful Valentine's Day for you. Welcome to the forum, also!

Yes, she is quite the music talent. For the occasion she played us "Moonlight Sonata". Obviously, she wore hereself out with her enthusiastic playing and fell sound asleep (last photo).

Truly, she has loved music since her early months. She pulls the ring on her crib music-box toy and then falls back to sleep; she loves any toy that is musical; I bought her a medium size ball; when you push the various parts, it lights and plays different kid tunes. She also has a toy piano and a set of baby drums. She especially reacts to her parents dancing around the house with her, as they play pop tunes on the radio; my son confesses she favors disco.

So I am not sure, if she will become a Mozart or a Elton John!

Hi Janine, thanks for a kind words. No, we didn't take those pictures; I just found them online. We just got back yesterday so we haven't had time to upload the many amazing photos we took. Yes, the Venetian is such a beautiful place. I'm sure your son's friend, Jimmy, had a wonderful time at his wedding. Over Valentine's weekend, I must've easily seen at least five different wedding parties at the Venetian and the Bellaggio.

Your granddaughter is so adorable! And wow, she's already playing Beethoven! How awesome! The Moonlight is one of my favorites to play when I want to relax. Brooke is going to grow up into a regular maestro! :thumbs_up

Yes, we think she is pretty amazingly cute too. She's a little pip, isn't she? I laughed seeing her crawl so rapidly into the kitchen; she was off and going, in no time flat. She is curious about everything now. She kept us all on our toes, believe me.

"Moonlight Sonata" was only part of her reportorie...along with her own original compositions of course....I think they were the 'bang bang' ones; maybe that was modern baby jazz! Her mother took a video, so I hope she sends me the link soon. If so, I will share it with all of you and you can decide. Of course, babies have a short attention span; so soon she was climbing on the piano and checking out the Valentine cards - she never misses a trick.

Still those photos were great choices. I love them all. I copied them for my own file so I can dream of going there. My son and his wife have been there once or twice and my sister and her husband have been out to Vegas about 4or 5 times. They love it. My son especially loved the Venetian and yes, many weddings take place there. I think the day his friend got married at least 5 others took place, as well. Pictures from theirs was just gorgeous. Who could beat that background? Can't wait to see your own photos. I am sure they will be equally amazing.

We think she is pretty adorable too. Thanks for agreeing. Oh yes, 'Baby Beethoven'....that is a creative variation on the theme of Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata"...it sounds like this ..bang bong tingle tingle bang bang bong crash...at least, she knows what the keys do now. She dove right into her playing, like she had never been away from the piano...so funny. Who knows, she might have latent talent there!

Went to a quite cool Valentine-party, titled LoveRocks..
It started around 11ish and ended around 4ish and the next day was quite tiring. Still, I liked it.

I think I haven't yet had the experience of being alone on a dance floor with the exception on of a friend on a gay party, hell, in any party.
Perhaps the fact that the music played belonged to Marylin Manson somehow scared away rest of the people - well, it was perfectly danceable. I know that the DJ had also played Lenin's speeches on such parties so Manson is nothing.

haha...ahhhh.... *Classic* my good friend, you are still young and you will have a lot of years to spend with someone truly special on V-Day....so it won't always be so 'unglamorous' a day for you. I bet the pizza and the kids were more fun than a date anyway!;)
