Firin' sinistral fingers up with skyward lurches
I'm hangin' with the hot shock vultures, under bridges,
torn-out eyes on stalks, bouncin' in the twilight breezes
and crumpin' with Black Venus in the space between perches,
hunting by the edges for lost change and trinkets,
lost, within searches.

'Art for art's sake'? Anyway, I like the sound of it and the dark color. Strangly enough, it reminds me of the poem 'Hangman'.

I love the term crumpin'. It reminds me of the word scrumpin - stealing apples. So, of course I'm thinking of a darker lot of stealth here which is very effective for me.

This is like language that has been in constraint for some time and has just broken out and is running wild with the headiness of freedom! Brilliant!

Thanks guys. It did run wild for a while and I felt like a street poet raging with it when I read it aloud to see if it worked. There were lines that needed an expression and I fought until I got them. Took a few days though.

I haven't been crumping but I have been scrumping. 'Scrumping' was a great joy of my youth, although I didn't know the word till now, thanks delta. :)
