can anyone please help me out???I have to choose 7 songs or instrumentals that i feel are a representative of a scene, character, in Romeo and Juilet. The music may be from any musical era or genre. i need a song that could represent romeo, juliet, tybalt, mercutio, and friar laurence, it can also be a key moment or scene in the play. Someone please help im totally out of ideas.

I would suggest a couple of songs, however I doubt they'd be appreciated by your teacher or whoever is marking this assignment.
Probably the easiest thing for you to do would be to check out the musical West Side Story, which is basically Romeo & Juliet in 1950's New York. Or the modernized (completely crap) adaptation with Dicaprio & Claire Danes.
However the most enjoyable thing to do would be play your entire music collection until you find some songs which you feel you can BS about enough to link to Romeo & Juliet. Also play the music full volume, when your parents complain tell them its for school.

Dire Straits has a song titled 'Romeo and Juliet': http://www.lyricsfreak.com/d/dire-straits/40674.html
I performed a search on lyrics.opendb.net of 'Romeo Juliet,' and found the following results: http://lyrics.opendb.net/tracks/?searchstring=Romeo+Juliet
Other than that, I cannot think of any songs from memory. Good luck!
Wow this is such a cool assignment! I'm not sure I can really help as I've never cared of even reading the play carefully but I think that rather then looking for songs explicitly dedicated to the play, even if you can use some of those, you should really think of your favourite music and find something that u think fits to the play, even if it's just from your personal point of view...

I would pick somthing TOTALLY out there and just go full steam BS. I suggest nonsence songs, like early Beck, Some crazy loud metal like Mushroomhead, Slipknot, System of a Down, And some Weird Al Yankovich!

I keep seeing this BS used these days...what does it mean??? At first I thought it stood for bullsh*t but I guess not...

It does mean Bullsh*t.
With regards to a usable song you might want to try Run like Hell by Pink Floyd.
especially:
"Take your girlfreind
Out tonight,
You'd better park the car
Well out of sight
'Cos if they catch you in the back seat
Trying to pick her locks
They're gonna send you back to mother
In a cardboard box
You better run."

Love of two is one
Here but now they're gone
Came the last night of sadness
And it was clear she couldn't go on
Then the door was open and the wind appeared
The candles blew then disappeared
The curtains flew then he appeared...saying don't be afraid
Come on baby...and she had no fear
And she ran to him...then they started to fly
They looked backward and said goodbye...she had become like they are
She had taken his hand...she had become like they are
Come on baby...don't fear the reaper

isn't there another line in that song that addresses R&J by name? Something:
Romeo and Juliet...Together in Eternity
Come on baby...Don't fear the reaper
And they're not afraid
somthin' like that
