I'm sorry but I really felt this was deserving of a thread,
so you could all see how hot it is today ( has been today )

Wow those are some funky looking candles.
I'd be quite happy with that.
It must be scorching... I'm freezing my bits off over here.

What the?!
That's why I live here.
No heat.
No cold.
Hardly ever, I mean.
You people are nuts for living in places where it gets to be 100 degrees or where it snows...what is wrong with you? Most of the time here it just feels like...air. Not hot or cold. Although it has been a bit rainy recently and I like it. I like it when it's a bit cold. :)

It's either hotter than usual,
or
they're using different material to make candles, that are less resistant to heat. Once they've been changing materials on everything, for ecological reasons, maybe it is possible.
And it gives an eve[n] (psichological) impression that you're under greater heat, when it might not be so ... Do you have a thermometre at home? This might help you find out the truth about the matter.
I ... have to admit that I thought it was your imagination, and I was about to say "all right, Jean ... we all know women speak more than usual ..." When I saw your candles, though ...
So, sorry for the prejudice. Even so, I should say that you aren't (among women) one who speaks less. Which isn't necessarily a bad characteristic.
(What would be of men if women did no talking at all?!! World would never be the same.)
-- I'm sorry if this sounds offensive to any member. It isn't meant to, so, please don't take it as so.

It was around 46 degrees. I dunno what that is in Fahrenheit. But i'm thinking it's past 100.

Well, yeah ... 46 C is a temperature we seldom have in Rio. 40 is our common, on summers. But usually, 38, 37.
I like it but, then ... there's the sea. (It brings good fresh air, at night.)

Biran, Lily lives near Santa Barbara, California. It is near paradise there.

Would you believe we had -14F (-26C) the other night here? Lucky today is above freezing and sunny and quite nice. Tomorrow is actually going to be spring like. But it's not to last.

That sounds wonderful Libri. Some day I will have to experience Rio.
Edit: Big time edit: It was not -14F here the other night. It was +14F, which is about -10C. Sorry if anyone was shocked. Still 14F is damn cold.

Virgil if you send some of your cold this way we will send the heat. We are currently ablaze with bushfires both here in NSW but worse in Victoria. We have lost people and homes over night. The army has been deployed it is that bad. Here hoping the rain we have forecast for next week arrives.
Fingers crossed everyone

I hate Texas weather. It can never make up its mind.
Last week we had 2 snow days straight because our roads froze over and Texans can barley drive in the rain nonetheless snow. If there's so much as a drizzle people start freaking out. Derrrr
A week later after our mid-week weekend we had a fog and high of 78 with bright blue sunshine.
Then some rain.
Then it was sunshine again.

Well we have floods in Queensland and NSW and Victoria are burning so we have it all as well. What we really need is the rain down this way it looks like it is on the way so fingers crossed. These are offical the worst fires in Austrlian recorded history. 750 homes gone and 108 lives lost at this stage.

I heard about those Australian brush fires. Sucks and I'm sorry.
Although the Texan weather is about as crazy as a hormonal housewife, we thankfully never experience floods or brush fires.

I think New York weather is crazy too. One day we have -3 degree Fahrenheit weather--and then two days later it's 50 degrees out! Goodbye snow. :bawling:

Erg. Heat. I hope all you litnetters on the east coast are keeping safe, and your families too :(. It's blinking hot here on the west too (we're getting easterly breezes carrying over the heat from over there!) and I had to wear my school jumper today, it was sooo hot!, but I had to due to the massive tear in my school dress!!
