Billy Wrote a Poem

Billy wrote a poem,
It wasn't very good.
Didn't say too much,
not speling as he should.

While you read along,
know he has a plan.
If it takes too long,
he just thinks he can.

Now he's not even trying,
well maybe just a bit
and he's probably lieing.
Something doesn't fit.

Though lacking from the start
and having easy rhyme,
he wrote it from the heart.
To waste some of your time.

The last line doesn't gel. Is this intentional? I'm learning about cadence, which by the way I'm still trying to grasp. Does this line bump along like that to underline the waste of time? to give just such an effect?
