View Full Version : Tell us a fib!

I was reading about a recently invented poetic form called the 'fib' today on the Guardian website. See here for info:http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/booksblog/2009/feb/04/maths-poetry-pi-fibonacci

The fib is a poetic form based on the Fibonacci numbers. The poem consists of 6 lines with a syllable count 1,1,2,3,5,8.

Well it looks like fun, so I've had a go. Why don't you join me poetic maths enthusiasts?

Number crunching

Yum.
Six,
seven,
eight, nine, one
delicious numbers
for my tum. Crunch! Munch! Minus one.

I will play, but shouldn't this be in games and contests?

Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
"Forward, the Light Brigade!
"Charge for the guns!" he said:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

Into the valley of Death, perhaps, sooner, as far as I am concerned, than into the teeth of this Fibonacci!!

But of course I admire you for being willing to try practically anything!
