It was a nice sunny morning when she rose from her bed and watched herself in the mirror.What she saw was a nice, firm, well-formed figure, but the expression on her face was not so nice. Another lonely night has left her confused. The look in her eyes was saying a thousand words.
"How much longer am I going to be so lonely?”, she asked herself, moving slowly to take a shower, apply makeup, get dressed.
"What a lonesome life I live!" Her inner complaints, always the same, were endless. Her actions were rather automatic and her thoughts were dull and confused. The people in the street were all without meaning to her, just a crowd passing by. She did whatever was to be done in the office, went home again, switched TV on, but she never new what programme she was tuned to, went to bed again, got up in the morning, went to work...
"This is not fair, something must be done to make my life better", she decided. But had no ideas in her mind. She wanted a relationship, at the same time her priority at this point in her life was her career. She was qualified, had the experience required and the aim to achieve. The thought of a contact relationship could not be considered, the distractions that this would create were a definite "no".
"Why are you so lost?" - she heard a voice from nowhere. She turned, looked around her room, but saw nobody.
"Well, now I'm hallucinating..." - she thought.
"You are not hallucinating." - the voice answered her thoughts.
She leaped out of her bed, opened the windows to breath some fresh air to pull herself together. Her surprise was even greater. In the garden under the window she saw a very strange site. A big shining disk with a dome on its top.
"A star ship!" - she whispered excitedly.
"Yes", she heard the voice from behind her, "a star ship. I've come from the stars to make you happy."
She turned and saw a beautiful man standing behind her, smiling sweetly. He held his hands towards her and took her in his arms. She fell into his arms, filled with joy and happiness. They kissed...
On waking the following morning, while stretching in her bed, her thoughts went into the previous night’s experience: had this really happened or was it just a dream? Then, her thougths turned to her work and she forgot all about it, doing her regular everyday's duties.
But, (can you believe it?) in the evening, he appeared again!
