Over the summer I read a book. I don't remember too much about it other than this:
The protagonist's older brother is hanging out with him during the summer, and he introduces him to weed. I remember a scene in which the protagonist goes to a lakehouse party with his brother and is about to lose his virginity but the girl doesn't want anyone to find out. She tells him to go down to the beach first and that she will come later, so no one suspects anything. She takes forever getting down there, though, and when she finally gets there the protagonist had lost his erection.
I'm pretty sure this was just a fairly dirty part of the book, but it's the part that sticks out most in my mind. Help please?

Sorry, can't help...
Loses his erection because of weed, or because he's an old man. Seriously, for teenage fiction, that seems a little bit nonsensical, and I think most guys would agree.
Either way, I can't help you - it seems current, and geared to teenagers, so I am at a loss.

it wasn't teenager-oriented. I think it was just a coming-of-age story.
And he lost his erection because the girl took like half an hour to get there.

That makes no sense.
No, it makes sense. What "she" or.. er, he ( sorry, I don't really know ) is trying to say, is that it's not a typical teenage story, despite the memory of it she has produced. A "coming of age " story isn't necessarily about that.
No, a guy losing his erection like that, a teenager, makes virtually no sense. Ask any guy.
OOO you meant that,
ahem, I thought you were talking about something else.
:D sorry

I'm sorry, but I don't seem to be able to help either. Maybe some additional information about the book would help. Do you know what the cover looked like? Or what age group it is targeted at? Was it a school book? I doubt it was. Do you remember any of the names of the characters or any details about the book that might assist in figuring out what the book's title is?

I looked some things up more and it's Rage by Stephen King. Definitely sure of it. Not really a teenager story, so in the future the judgmental asses who insisted that I read trashy teen pulp fiction can reserve their opinions. Thanks for no help whatsoever!
Everyone who said "no, I don't know that book-" wow, thanks for the helpful post!
Hey - I defended you.
But you should drop the snarky attitude.
