Okay, all you have to do is tell someone from lit net, obviously, what your first impression of them was. Of course you may post something about one person and post another thought on them at a later stage. It doesn't have to be in the form of a compliment - you can be brutally honest. Also, if this impression has now changed - inform them and tell them why it has changed.
The impression can be form based on their posts, the way they look, their blogs, what they've said to you, what they've said to others, etc.

Also, this isn't a " post a ... about the person above you ", thread. It can be about anyone.
And remember, don't forget to post if this impression has changed and if so, why it has. That's the most important part.

Lets see if this works. :)

My first impression of limajean was that she's sophisticated.

kandaurov - my first impression of you was formed when you sent me that message, do you remember? And I just thought you were so kind after that. You were one of the first people to actually take the time to actually talk to me.

My first impression of LadyW - I looked at her picture on her profile and went, "Im going to marry her one day."

Wow, what a coincidence. I took one look at Lady W and thought the same thing...

I thought Andave was quite older than she is :D Now I know age and maturity aren't always proportional, and am glad to see the myth of the increasingly more immature youth thus spectacularly debunked.
I, having quite a secure heterosexual identity, still found TheInsomniac's avatar strangely appealing. The Krillin-like noselessness might have something to do with it :)
I thought MattG was a satanist. I still do (ha!). In all seriousness, you're a great addition to this forum, you come up with quite creative threads and you like Johnny Cash :brow:
I saw in limajean a complex personality, simultaneously confident and insecure. You're stronger than I thought, though. Your likeableness and charisma will take you places.

I too thought Adya was older. I also thought Dramasnot6 was older.
I thought Lily Adams was sweet, now i know she is just as crazy as the rest of us
And i thought MattG was somebody else

Okay.. Virgil,
you were the first person I spoke to on this site. Do you remember? it was on the D.H Lawrence short story thread. I asked if you guys were up to the 3 novellas yet.
I thought you were a woman! until I went to your profile and what not :)

That impression has er, changed. hehe.

The impression that I really remember were from when I was new/kinda new:

I thought Jay was a guy and Mono was a chick.
I was confused by Nightshade because her name was Nightshade but she was the Lady of Smiles.
I thought Stannie was a bit out there because he was all about pirates
Niamh I thought was interesting because she was an archeologist.

:( Limajean... why do you torment me so?

LoteTree
In a thread, I once guessed that LoteTree was an average height white male with a bad fashion sense... I was probably right about the fashion sense mind. Funny chap! Which doesn't detract from the fact I could still win him in a fight.

Dori
Horrible. Can't stand the guy.
:D
I've always thought he was an interesting fellow, and I enjoy our conversations/correspondence very much.

Sprinks
You remind me of a rainbow, haha.

Downing
Simply lovely. (I will get the story ending up eventually. Even if it's the last thing I do.)

librarius_qui
Very friendly :)

LimaJean
If I was a jealous person, I'd most likely be jealous of you because you're very pretty. I think you're kinda cool :):thumbs_up
I don't really know you that well.. so that IS my first impression I guess.

TheInsomniac
Where to even begin my dear friend.

Yeah, sorry, but I've pretty much had that on my chest since Aug. 2005! :D

I thought of another one. I thought Dork was a goofball because she had that avy of the cat with the lime on it's head and her name was bulletproof dork

Snot I thought was a pretty smart and I like her because she let me call her Snot.

Lily I thought was funny and just a little bit twisted in her absolute devotion to Devo and I always wondered how she got introduced to that music.

Classic Charm – that her name said it all – tick

I have no idea where you get that from:blush::blush:

hmmm let's see...first impressions

RedZeppelin- I know he doesn't come in here, but he was my first serious conversation here. Thought he was the most in-touch-with-himself person I'd ever spoken to. RIGHT.

Sleepywitch- thought she was a guy because we were discussing Hannibal Lecter (stupid assumption, obviously, seeing as I'm a girl...)

Virgil- thought he was going to be a snob, for no reason whatsoever. And then I talked to him. WRONG.

Dori- thought you were a girl. Sorry!! Clearly, WRONG.

Niamh- thought you were a sweetheart. RIGHT.

Sprinks- thought you were going to be the coolest kid ever. RIGHT.

Janine- KNEW you were going to be the type I would go to if I needed a hug. RIGHT.

MattG- thought you were going to be a horror movie buff, just because of your avy and the first time I saw you post was the movie thread. I have no idea if that's correct or not, but now I know that you're pretty hilarious.

LimaJean- thought that you were going to be a force of nature and everyone would love you. RIGHT.

LadyWentworth- I don't know what I thought you were going to be like, but it wasn't how you actually are. I think it had something to do with the "Future Tony Award Winner" statement...so, WRONG.

Well for the girl that i had a massive fling with, your both classicly beautiful, very strong, believes in their own point of view, likes to argue, and the attempts of tapping into the forseen 'nerdy' subculture.

My little sister is 12, and she just has that sort of... beachy relaxation that you seem to posess. She is getting into the zombie games and loves to watch all the gooky cartoons like yourself. And i see an innocence in you, that i can see in my little sister, as if you take everything in stride and can't stand to hurt others around you, although you do what you must. A passionate person.

kilted exile - a deep thinker, open-minded, the kind of guy to have fun with and drink

Niamh - opinionated, outgoing, very agreeable, well-read

Wary might be a good word, but only because you're new. New people come and go but only a few stay. I haven't seen a lot of your posts so I don't have much of an opinion to go on (although you did shut me down in the Soundgarden thread!) but you seem smart and nice.

Most people are rather quiet at the start and slowly make themselves known, but you came in here all guns blazing! Which isn't a bad thing, just since you've come in, and Matt, there's been so much more activity - I think some people didn't know what to make of it.

Wary might be a good word, but only because you're new. New people come and go but only a few stay. I haven't seen a lot of your posts so I don't have much of an opinion to go on (although you did shut me down in the Soundgarden thread!) but you seem smart and nice.

Indeed I did :crash:

No, no, no! I know you didn't mean to, infact.. you didn't mean to offend me at all.

I was just making an observation that most people here have been, I think, wary of me? at first? I don't know how to explain it.

I think i read a post of your somewhere in the facinity of General literature when you were only a few posts into your post count that made me think that...couple of posts after that, you discovered General Chat and that was the end of that!

Yeah I understand, it's always like that with newbies.

But you could argue that the snobbish people here aren't the ones who situate themselves in the general lit section ( for this is, well, a literature site ) but those who distance themselves from newbies because of these impressions they've formed on the basis of well... nothing, eh?

I do think that everyone is naturally a little protective over their "territory" when it comes to newcomers though. Even if that territory is a website ;)

Okay, I'll play.

Silas Thorne reminded me of a traveler who is both sage and lyrical. I really dig his low key sense of humor. He may slip something clever by you if you're not paying attention.

limabean, my little limabean. Well, at first I thought you must really be into yourself because most people I've run across who look as stunning as you do and post pics as quickly as you did send a flag up for me. HOWEVER, once we started talking I realized how genuine, smart, talented, creative and wonderfully mischievous you are. Even better, I don't think you even know how easy on the eyes you are. And the best part is that you're a rarity who won't even need your looks to get where you want to go. Born on the cusp and doubly blessed.

Jojo is a kindred soul to me. The first time I interacted with her I could tell. It's that simple.

*C*C* reminds me of my daughter. I saw the horses and the mention of being a Hitchcock fan and it clicked for me. It's weird but I felt an instant connection to you.

KizPaws has a way of framing the world via her pictures that makes me feel like I know her. It was another instantaneous thing, I saw her pics and thought that if I had half of her talent that's how I'd frame what she was seeing too.

Niamh I don't really know yet but that sideways pic she has up with the knowing smile made me feel like she could see what I was up to. I don't think anyone could easily fool her.

Sprinks seems like a bundle of energy and a lot of fun.

Logos reminded me of my neighbor who is from Canada. She inherited all of my neighbors qualities :D

MattG- thought you were going to be a horror movie buff, just because of your avy and the first time I saw you post was the movie thread. I have no idea if that's correct or not, but now I know that you're pretty hilarious.

I'm a huge film fan period! Supernatural horror done correctly (The Innocents, The Others, The Haunting etc) is one of my favorite genres.

As for the hilarious part, it's purely coincidental ;)

I cannot remember, over a year, no doubt. I would stop by from time to time, but have kept ridiculously busy these past years (working, writing, traveling, keeping up with life, etc.), but at least now it seems far less chaotic.

Yikes, o-chem! I loved it, even though it felt so overwhelming! A&P I considered my favorite, and I still do volunteer tutoring from time to time at a nearby university.
I started out as a pre-med major, and finished most of the prerequisites, but applied to nursing school out of a whim, partially serious, partially joking, got accepted, and went with that. Not a lot of my coworkers took o-chem, histology, and such, but at least it would make the transition for me easier, if I ever wanted to advance my degree to a nurse practitioner (FNP) or anesthetist (CRNA).
What about you? Science major? Med?

Yeah see - i've never quite understood that. The whole, taking a photo of yourself if you are attractive means you're in to yourself thing. It's kind of unfair. It's almost like saying that someone who is attractive is showing off every time they walk down the street and people look at them.

Lima, I didn't like you at first. But for no particular reason. *head scratch*. I apologize for that, although I don't think I ever said/typed anything that would indicate that, but upon reading your blogs and posts, I quite like you. But I also think you are a mysterious person, to a degree, who has a lot more to give. Also, I'm too shy to start talking to people, so the gap remains unbridged.

Virgil was my nemesis, hahaha... I did not like him at all at first. I think there was a thread with regards to being environmentally friendly, which he outright scorns. Anyway. We've overcome our differences. And now he's one of my favourite Lit-Netter's. I always look for his blogs, and look forward to hopefully meeting him soon...
