Is there anybody who knows Kazantzakis?

I just want to tell you a little about him.
Actually he is one of my favorite writers . he came to my attention by his " Zorba The Greek " .
Actually in all of his novels kazantzakis examines the relationship between man and God and life in general . " Zorba The Greek " is a novel revolves around two character's manners toward life. The life of The narrator, a greek intellectual, is burdened by reason . he resolves to set aside his books for a few month and sets off for Crete. just before his departure he meets a mysterious 65 years old man name Zorba .
Each of these characters has his own , unique manner . Zorba embraces life and savours each moment of life . the narrator approaches life with little confidence . he experiences life through the teachings of others .
In short , I found this book interesting specially because I share the narrator's manner.:)

Oohh,I love Kazantzakis!

I have only read "Freedom or Death" which is "Kaptain Michael",if I'm not wrong...I thought it conveyed a great and strong message.I have been wanting to read "Alexis Zorba" for some time now but I seem to never get to it...

I read several of his books when I was in my teens and still wondering a lot about religion and my favorite by far was The Greek Passion.

I haven't read Zorba... but I have read The Last Temptation of Christ... which I found quite good... a little of his Odyssey: A Modern Sequel... which I never finished for some reason... although I somewhat suspect that I was still in college at the time and was confronted with other more pressing reading requirements. I also read a good deal of his bio. A strong figure. I must return to his Odyssey.

Kazantzakis is one of my favourite authors. Having read "Zorba the Greek", "The Last Temptation of Christ", "Freedom or Death" and "Christ Recrucified", I found Christ Recrucified my favourite. The characterisation was amazing; I just wish I could understand Greek so I could read his works in their mother tongue!
