It's not fair to restrain free birds
inside a cage who are supposed to be free,
as their wings yearn for a freedom,
and their restlessness plea
the passers-by to be eternally free.

Part not the inseparable soulmates into a pit of misery.
They are passionate lovers, and so young,
and so full of love, yet their souls are desperate,
and so scared of their boundaries, demarcated
by the rusted ideologies of the hypocrites.

Love as pristine it should be,
untouched and unspoiled by theologies,
unbiased to ethnicities,
and unharmed by the claws of society.

Shackle not their frolicsome innocence.
These exquisite buds aspire to sprout,
and yearn for a warm sunshine to radiate,
but their liveliness withers from the malicious
and contagious contemplation of society's maledictions.

The silence moans with her rising despair.
Tears are just unruly in her eyes,
and her gloom permeates into the atmosphere.
Then, a breeze sighs, and the door laments.

Her wailing makes a passionate plea to the ear of mulish society,
but their cruel intentions always repressed her innocence.
Now, she will not speak, nor she will complain.
Oh, can't you see how she is burning in her desperation?

Her suitor, as he reminisces, feels so worthless and lame,
demeaned by the self-righteous swines, and with his watery eyes,
his anguish infuriates, and insinuates his mind
to inflict his own shattered existence.

His life is empty without her, and the vacuum remains,
but, he is now severely wounded, and how long can he battle
with the senseless fences that the phony society intrigued
in pride, flagrantly and inhumanely, to inflict their innocence?

A cold dagger shines restlessly in his shivering hand to chase
the screaming afflictions, and to cease the armageddon
that ends in sheer silence, bitter than anything,
when the oozing of blood colour the earth with crimson red,
that depicts nothing but a tragic ending of desperate love.

Wow! That is some powerful writing, Dibyendra.

I read it silently and realized that this was one poem that HAD to be spoken out loud.

I could feel the desperation and the yearning hearts.

Great job! :thumbs_up

Thank you very much, Kiz, for your appreciation, and feeling the desperation what this poem is trying to convey.
