Lets see how many symbols we can come up with. It should be a very long list. List the symbol with what you think it represents after it. This should be fun.:idea:

Let me start;
The glass papreweight - Winston buys a paperweight in an antique store in the prole district that comes to symbolize his attempt to reconnect with the past. Symbolically, when the Thought Police arrest Winston at last, the paperweight shatters on the floor.

i don't agree with that symbolism. The glass paperweight, symbolizes Winston as the pink core, surrounded by his thin protective bubble. When he is caught it shatters as Winston is no longer protected and has now failed. He has no protection.

I certainly think that could be another way of looking at it and I'm sure that both interpretations probably are correct

I've never heard of that interpretation before, but I agree with it!
Another one for the glass paperweight is that it symbolises the tight protection that Winston is trying to create for him and Julia.
