Design,slave,design!
Trapped within these walls Mr. Marceau slaps silently, over and over
like a tumbling kitten.
Gracefully, I assault my thought's companion.
Patiently, I wait, till waiting's lungs have burst.
Screaming 'Cry, Freedom, Cry!' still no sound emerges.
Smash this close-fitting coffin.
Shake the ragged eardrums of the night.
i got the mime part, but who is your thought's companion, and why are the eardrums ragged?

I saw the close-fitting coffin as the confines of life, and the ragged eardrums of the night made me think of how deafening silence really is. (You'd know it well out here, as the cold makes sound travel much further, and accentuates the silence unbelievably)
I thought you said it well in so few lines. :)

My question is why "Mr. Marceau" as opposed to simply saying "he"?
