Bleh.. Someone recently pointed out that it's been two years since i cut my hair... It would appear that this is not normal... (?) Anyway, i'm having my exams next week and decided I'd cut my hair on Friday, yeah i know, the last hair cut was pretty spontaneus as well... I've just got off the phone with the scissor lady, and now i'm a little lost.

Getting hair cut, check.
Getting hair cut how... No idea.

I'm thinking someone might have any funky suggestions, it's blond, and goes below my shoulders. I'm really not sensitive about it, and i've previously cut it completely short. (2 cm!) :)

Anyway, maybe some awesome suggestion will fly my way, and i'll post the result :)

I think you should wait till a professional cuts it...

but hey, your hair.

I assure you I know nothing about cutting hair, and have indeed booked a time with a professional... Most my friends are male, and they too know little about hair cutting. Wouldn't trust them a mile away.

Well,.. i personally think long hair is the best,
mine goes down to my waist but the front is layered to frame my face.
Maybe you should just get a trim and let it grow out

I'm due for a trim shortly so I'll probably make my appt soon and might as well have my hair color done as well. I normally do it myself but since my hair is past my shoulders it is hard for me to get all the spots especially in the back.
Try looking thru some magazines for ideas.

Magazines at the hair dresser's are your best friend. There are so many potential styles to flip through.

if you have straight hair, why not try a pixie cut? they're so cute, i've always wanted one but since my hair is too curly, i've just grown it out (it's below waist length now....)

Haha, yeah, i was thinking about just shaving it off so that i wouldn't have to bother with it anytime soon. But then again, it really is quite cold here, and i need all the natural insulation i can get. :)

My hair is straightesque. It gets wavy after its been wet, and its really really thick! I can't really do the pixie thing because it just collapses. Mine is pretty long too, nearly belly button. But I think i'm going to have to just do what Becca says and look at magasines and then tell the hair dresser to do as she wishes. :)

Getting haircuts here is ridiculously expensive, and easily costs over 100 dollars. Guess that's why this is at most something i can afford to deal with once a year.

Don't take Dori's advice on this one

If you are seeing a really good hair dresser they should be able to, for $100 give you some really good idea's on what would look good on you.

Two years might be a little long between hair cuts going forward thought;)

Best of luck and please let us know how you get on and what you decide.

Why don't you go to a hairdressing school, they have cheaper cuts and you can find students just about to graduate.

(I've never been to a hairdresser....)

Yeah, I thought about a hairdresser school, a lot of my friends use them, and it really is cheaper, less than ten dollars. On the other hand I've seen how my friends looked afterwards.. ;) Maybe danish hairdressing students just aren't that good...

This is really reminding me of Douglas Adams and his population of hairdressers.

The cut is tonight, so i'm kinda looking foreward to having someone who knows what they're doing just fixing my haystack. :)
