Hello, my name is est1984 lol, I have found your site using google hoping to find some help with a cover letter I am writing for a job, as you know with the timing of the recession it is making it harder for companies to employee people... and it has come at a relaly bad time for me as i have just graduated and needing work experience. I have writtern a cover letter offering companies related to my acadmeic knowledge for free until perhaps im a worthy candidate? could you please from the kindness in your heart proofread my cover letter. I want to ensure i give the best impression using this letter however my writtern english isnt the greatest

I am writing this letter to you as an application to work for INSERT COMPANY and I offer myself to work for free.

With the timing of the recession it has unfortunately made it harder for me to boost my career after having just graduated during this summer. Not only this but the roles in the CAD industry which I am hoping to pursue a career in requires x amount of years work experience, something which I do not posses. However I am still keen to bring my academic knowledge into the workplace.

I graduated from Birmingham City University with a BSc Hons in Computer Aided Automotive Design. As part of my final year project, I successfully designed a bodykit for a small single seated racing car as part of my individual project which, upon completion, was comparable Formula One. I feel that the most valuable key skill I have gained from this course was researching and solving design solutions. Whilst accomplishing this it has made me a confident user with CAD applications in particular CATIA V5.

I am an individual who believes that quality must lie at the root of everything I do. I am honest, enthusiastic, energetic and reliable. I am a quick learner and highly motivated. I thrive under pressure and work to meet tight deadlines either as part of a team or by showing initiative to work as an individual. I am hardworking and have the ability to prioritize workloads on a daily basis. As my previous employers will assure you, my confident nature coupled with my excellent communication and co-operative skills, has made me a natural leader amongst my peers.

If it would be possible to gain maybe a year’s worth of work experience with your company the experience to me in itself would be valued as a salary. To earn this experience [INSERT NAME] it would be even more valuable that I learnt from an industry leading company.

My qualifications make me well suited to your design/engineering departments. I am confident that an interview would be a great way to discuss this arrangement further. Thank you for your time and I eagerly anticipate your reply. In addition to this email I am attaching a copy of my CV for your review.

I would appreciate any kind of help. thank you

hi, thanks for your reply....

basically i had graduated this year in may... and i have been looking for jobs like trainee/junior/graduate roles... but i cannot find work... i never have the required experience... and it is more difficult with the recession more experienced ppl will be avalible for these jobs... so what i want to offer is a company that i will work for them for free for me to gain experience maybe as a part time worker whilst i have a full time job or something... until prehaps they maybe willing to offer me a permenant position. im looking for work that is cad related... like cad designer, design engineer, catia v5 designer, cad operator...

i use this as my professional portfolio introduction on my cv...

I am a Computer Aided Automotive Design Graduate at the Technology Innovation Centre, Birmingham City University. I am a capable and dedicated design graduate who enjoys being part of, as well as leading, a successful and productive team. Being proactive enables me to put forward new ideas and concepts, and helps improving the development of innovation and researching creative solutions to problems. Possessing the ability to work on my own initiative and to demonstrate profound levels of motivation and organisation assist me in meeting tight deadlines. Having excellent interpersonal skills, I am able to communicate at ease with colleagues on all levels whilst leading by example. At present I believe the experiences and competencies I have gained at University would make me a valuable assest to any company looking for an experienced individual to work on computer aided design in a technological industry such as aeronautical, aerospace, automotive, marine, mechanical and similar industries.
