yeah, i'm pretty sure this isn't the BEST place to ask this question, but i bet one of you will know the answer.

How do I print onto playing cards?

Do you think it will bend them all out of shape?

I have an HP 5150 laserjet

Your printing onto cards that are already cut to size?? Or using 'card' stock to produce sheets of playing-cards that you will then detach or cut out from the printed sheet??

I obviously have no idea what I'm talking about, and now you know it too........ Hahaha.

I once tried to print things on cards to use in my classes and it was not too bad. They were a little bent so had to press them for a while to straighten them.
It would depend a lot on the quality of the cards you are using, me thinks.

Well, as long as the words are already sized to fit on the card, it would probably work.

With most printer driver software you can tell the printer what size you're printing on.

Or, you could possibly use a tiny piece of tape on the leading edge of the card to attach it to a standard size 8 1/2" X 11" piece of paper, and print it that way, so that it doesn't get jammed. I've done similar before, also with my scanner, and it's really helpful with awkward pieces of paper. :)

Try printing a test page, and see where the text falls, then try the ol attching the cards to the paper gag, and it should work!

Well, I hope ye get your printer fixed, With the amount of money these companies recieve, could it not be conceivable, that they could inhibit printer jams???

in case you wondered... i did fix it...

my dad works in R+D for HP printers... and its amazing that as complex as these machines are, when they screw up, someone of average intelligence can fix it if they apply themselves... and do it without damaging the incredibly precise instruments within the printer.

Printer jams are annoying - i know that better than most... but it's amazing that these machines work as well as they do.

I hate printers, they are so bloody iratating! Mine never works properly! I wish I had a transporter connected to my computer that would just beam the pages into reality!!!

Talking about jams, the damn printer at school jammed every time I tried to print a document today, what a pain in the arse that was!

<whew> glad it all worked out imthefool without too much loss of blood! While they do say defeating built-in mechanisms and default settings is a big no-no, I too have done some creative tweaks to machines and usually it all works out.
