View Full Version : Autumn Shutters

Autumn shutters clutter with the flutter
of felled leaves:
crimson, amber, orange, gray
falling, drifting, settling, dying.

The crisp winds unhinge vapor
like early snow.
Dancing arrays of light and shadow
form a thick carpet obscuring
the season past.

Through this cooling death
can be seen, that which past
had lived.

Only look and you will see
as the camera flashes
a play of dawn to dusk.
Through the colors of these
seasoned shutters
blinds momentarily prised apart
reveal a scene of wonder.

Real, and imagined
bring with it sound
wisping and crackling
to you the observer.

Just look at the picture
taken through
your very own prism.
It lasts longer, perhaps
forever.

This could be what you
have seen
rewarded with a show.
Unlike any other
written eternally
on nature's gauzy gown.

OOh I really like this one.

I love this stanza

The crisp winds unhinge vapor
like early snow.
Dancing arrays of light and shadow
form a thick carpet obscuring
the season past.

Thanks DM, the various stanzas have their ups and downs I suppose...
