Hello. Been a while since I've posted here.

I have just finished up my Brit Lit 2 class, and that will be my last literature class of my college career, at least in the foreseeable future. I would like to keep up with high literature (because my before bed reading is rarely high literature) and was wondering if anyone had any anthology recommendations. I have the Norton anthologies for American and Brit lit, but they are so broad, and frankly, big and cumbersome to handle. I really like Modern era poetry, but anything in the times roughly before and after that time period is also good. Some of my favorite poets are W. B. Yeats, Joseph Conrad, T. S. Elliot, Ginsberg, Wallace Stevens, D. H. Lawrence,Phillip Larkin. Also, these anthologies can include short stories also. And footnotes would be good, too.

Thanks for any help.

Norton of Modern and Contemporary poetry perhaps? I think they also have a modernist only anthology, of some great length, that should contain a few good links.

If you want to read contemporary poetry, Bloodaxe Books has some wonderful anthologies.

I second that. I have Staying Alive and it is wonderful.
