Russian Films

I have a page (http://www.geocities.com/rusatg/USfilms.htm) that lists English language movies that are based on books by Russian authors. So far I have 27 titles listed that are available in US. And I'm trying to find more. Would appreciate any help with the ones I've missed. I really liked Lolita, Onegin & Doctor Zhivago.

Also Is anyone interested in talking about Russian Cinema?

I so much want to see Doctor Zhivago, I just finished the book and Im curious...

Im not much into cinema and Im impressed by your knowledge of Russian movies cos it's not something so mainstream (unless you actually are in Russia...). But do you mean only movies based on Russian lit., or movies actually produced in Russia? Or both? I saw 4 Russian movies last year, because one of my teachers organised the shows, they are not so easy to find... They were quite "strange", not similar to what we are used to... I appreciated Acca, good soundtrack too :) Oh and I saw a recent one, just from a couple of years ago, but it had no subtitles so I understood more or less 10 words and I cant remember the title right now.

What version of Zhivago? The old one, with Omar Sharif, or the new with that guy...forget his name...who plays Marius in Les Miserables? I've seen the old one, it's fantastic. :)

I also loved Onegin, saw the movie before reading the book, but that order didn't hurt a bit.

The only comedy I have seen is The Twelve Chairs.

And I have only read of the Bremin Town Musicians, but it is by far one of the best fairy tales.
