The Introductions forum doesn't seem to be the most happenin' haunt on LitNet, but I figured I would swoop by and submit by two shillings-worth all the same because I haven't the foggiest idea where else to try and introduce myself, so I suppose this is "hello" -- Greetings, good day and good will to you upstart intellectuals. My name is of no consequence, but you may call me Amlóði (as in Amleth as in Hamlet as in one who is passionate yet very cerebral and ever-slightly narcissistic with decent intentions and a penchant for procrastination). I can't think of anything more relevant to say than to claim like so many before me that I am a walking paradox, just another bundle of contradictions. I am and will be for the next several years bound to academia and I cannot even begin to describe to you how much I abhor literature courses and all reading requirements. I do, however, love literature and the discussion and analysis thereof and am positively tickled to have stumbled upon this fine establishment. I have a bizarre relationship with written matter and I hope to explore the nature of it during my stay, however long or brief may it be.

Yours, yours.

Welcome Amlóði :)
It is difficult to write your user name, that's why I copy and pasted it. And you are right about the introductions forum, may be your stay be longer.

Hey there!
Welcome, Amlódhi.

We'll help you out to go through this weird thing "academia" is ... You may count on me, at least.

(Not of much help, but ... well.)

&, In the end, you'll be singing

"Gaudeamus (http://personal.us.es/alporu/historia/gaudeamus.htm) igitur
juvenes dum sumus
Gaudeamus igitur
juvenes dum sumus ..."

Welcome. I enjoyed your introduction :). I assure you, this place has no literature courses - but plenty of different varieties of literary types.
